BRAZIL's top dirt performer Mr. Nedawi (Joao G. Da Costa/ Jose Aparecido), winner ofArgentina´s Group 1 Gran Premio Dardo Rocha in November, cemented his status as South America's top dirt stayer with a crowning victory in Uruguay´s premier race.

The six-year-old Brazilian-bred son of Nedawi dominated his 12 opponents with two furlongs remaining and battled back gamely after being headed entering the final furlong to score by a head over Uruguayan standout Relento.

Mr. Nedawi covered the 2,400 metres in 2m30.162 on fast ground to earn his fourth straight stakes victory and 12th win in 32 starts for owner Stud Hole In One and prominent breeder Haras Old Friends.

Relento, a Brazilian-bred son of Fahim, winner of the 2009 renewal of the race, came within a head of becoming the only dual winner of the race in nearly 50 years.
